The WA Museum, a retrospective of 30 years of work vintage designer Aurelio Costarella in a first host country for the institution.
Costarella designed for some big stars, including former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, singer Rihanna, Tyra Banks, model, burlesque star Dita Von Teese and singer Dannii Minogue.
The designer has gained importance to the industry of the country.
"I think it is important that the museum is in fact the history of the West Australian fashion," Costarella said.
"Western Australia has some wonderful creative talent and it has certainly come a long way in the past 30 years.
"There was very little in terms of industry here, when I put in my way."
Costarella now thinks attention from other parts of the Australian market.
"Many great artists ... get now," he said. "I think it turned into a very modern place.
"We have many here in Washington designers are doing very well internationally based. This is a very exciting time for the industry."
The exhibition, which includes dresses on mannequins, fashion is tableaux, video presentations, parades and projections of 2 November to February sides Frock stars instead: Inside Australian Fashion Week, a national tour program reveals how it is to be behind the scenes of a fashion show Australian fashion.
Both exhibitions are free.
